Contacting Shelter by Phone
The Shelter customer service phone number is Freephone 0808 800 4444 if you need help or advice about housing. This line is open from 8am to 8pm on weekdays, and from 8am to 5pm at the weekend, all year round. Call the Supporter Helpdesk on 0300 330 1234. This line is open from 9am to 6pm on weekdays (excluding bank holidays). The phone number of the main switchboard is 0344 515 2000. This line is open from 9am to 5.30pm on weekdays but please note that they cannot give housing advice on this number.
Unlike traditional landline phone numbers, 03 numbers are not linked to specific geographic locations. The cost of calling an 03 number within the UK is always the same as that of calling a normal home or business landline. In theory, calls from a landline phone cost about 10p per minute, while calls from mobile phones cost between 3p and 55p. However, if your phone tariff offers free calls to landlines at certain times of day – or has inclusive calls or bundled minutes that cover calls to landline numbers – calls to 03 numbers (and all other 03 numbers) will be included in these deals in exactly the same way.
