The People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) is a veterinary charity in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1917 by Maria Dickin to provide care for sick and injured animals of the poor. It is the UK’s leading veterinary charity, carrying out more than one million free veterinary consultations a year.
Contacting PDSA by Phone
The PDSA customer service phone number is Freephone 0800 917 2509. If you are specifically interested in veterinary treatment or want to find out about eligibility, call Freephone 0800 731 2502 from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. If you are interested in supporting the PDSA with regular or occasional donations, dial Freephone 0800 0199 166. If you wish to volunteer your spare time to help the Dispensary, ring Freephone 0800 854 194. For enquires about the PDSA Petsurance policy, or to make a claim, ring 0333 234 0599 from 8am to 6pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 2pm on Saturdays.
0800 numbers are generally completely free to call both from landline phones and from mobiles; they have no service charge or access charge and don’t use up your phone plan’s “free minutes” allowance.
The cost of calling an 0330 number within the UK is always the same as that of calling a normal home or business landline. In theory, calls from a landline phone cost about 10p per minute, while calls from mobile phones cost between 3p and 55p. However, if your phone tariff offers free calls to landlines at certain times of day – or has inclusive calls or bundled minutes that cover calls to landline numbers – calls to 0330 numbers (and all other 03 numbers) will be included in these deals in exactly the same way.
