National Insurance Telephone Number 0300 200 3519
National Insurance (NI) is a system of taxes paid by workers and employers, used primarily to fund state benefits. It was initially a contributory system of insurance against illness and unemployment, and later also provided retirement pensions and other benefits. It was first introduced by the National Insurance Act 1911 and expanded by the Labour government in 1948.

Contacting National Insurance by Phone
The National Insurance customer service phone number is 0300 200 3500. If you have a hearing impediment, dial 0300 200 3519. If you are calling from abroad, the number is +44 191 203 7010. These lines are open from 8am to 8pm on weekdays and from 8am to 4pm on Saturdays.
To apply for a NI number, phone 0345 600 0643 (Textphone: 0345 600 0644) from 8am to 6pm on weekdays. If you wish to converse in Welsh, ring 0345 602 1491
between 8:30am and 5pm on weekdays.
Unlike traditional landline phone numbers, 0300 and 0345 numbers are not linked with specific geographic locations. The cost to call an 0300 or 0345 number within the UK is always the same as calling a normal home or business landline. In theory, calls from a landline phone cost about 10p per minute, while calls from mobile phones cost between 3p and 55p. However, if your phone tariff offers free calls to landlines at certain times of day – or has inclusive calls or bundled minutes that cover calls to landline numbers – calls to these numbers (and all other 03 numbers) will be included in these deals in exactly the same way.
