The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (previously known as the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre) is an executive agency, located in Swansee, overseen by the Department of Transport and we hold over 45 million driver records and over 39 million vehicle records. Furthermore, we collect around £6 billion a year in Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). Some of our other duties include: recording driver endorsements, disqualifications and medical conditions, taking enforcement action against vehicle tax evaders, collaborating with the police and intelligence authorities when it is necessary, issuing and registering photocard driving licences and tachographs.

Over the last ten years, one of our main commitments has been to become a highly efficient organisation through expanding both our cloud based and alternative services, and by creating a state-of-the-art workplace. All these have led us to win various awards. The following information aims to guide the citizens through the various ways they can be atended in both English and Welsh.
